DOGTROT HOUSE

Location: Calistoga, California

This budget build is a fire-remodel from the Tubbs fire in Calistoga, CA. The design for the new house uses a classic “dog-trot” scheme comprising a garage, breezeway and two bedroom house under one continuous roof. This plan was used by early American settlers to bring cool breezes through the covered outdoor area in hotter climates.
